I just finished watching a movie on hulu.com called "Spirit of the Marathon". My sister, Kim, mentioned it to me the other day, and finally, I had the time this morning to watch it. Amazing. Worth checking out, for sure.
Just 6 days left. I am nervous and excited. The whole famn damily is coming up from Ohio, some to cheer, my Mom and sister Karin to participate in the half marathon... What an unbelievable adventure this has been. And the near culmination after months of training... I can't describe.
The next post you will see from me will be in one week... with a completion time... my very own marathon PR!!
In one week, I will be a marathoner!

ReplyDeleteToday is Sunday, October 18, 2009. And today, my sister is running a freakin MARATHON.
ReplyDeleteWhen friends asked where my family went this weekend, i responded... "they went to watch my sister run a marathon". And suddenly, i realized how unbelievably bad-ass that sounds. not just sounds either. IS.
What you have accomplished, getting yourself into shape enough to run that damn far, is seriously, SERIOUSLY amazing. I'm not just saying that either. I'm not just typing this because this is what's expected of a brother in this situation... It seriously blows me away knowing that you're running a FULL MARATHON in just a few hours.
Sucks that i couldn't get up there to witness it.
However, if all goes as planned, by the end of today you'll be a "marathon runner". and that... is NUTS.
So, good luck today Katie! Emily says she's thinkin' about ya today too!
